Contingency Plan

What could go wrong during production
How are you going to avoid this issue? What’s your back up plan?
Model doesn’t turn up
Have their phone number and text them before the shoot just to remind them. Have a back up model that can replace them.
Photos are out of focus
Take some test photographs before the main shoot. Put the camera in autofocus. Check each photo after it has been taken to make sure that it is in focus
Models are wearing the wrong clothes
Text them early before the day starts and before they have got dressed to make sure they put the correct outfit on.
Photos get lost or corrupted
Keep more than one copy of the photographs. Store the photos on the network space so that they can be recovered if lost. If they are on an SD Card or a memory card then safely remove the hardware before unplugging.
Lighting assistant doesn’t turn up
Have the name of someone else who is qualified to use the lighting equipment and make sure they’re available happy to help at the same time that the shoot is on.
Not enough time scheduled to take all of the photographs required.
Do a quick practise before the actual photo shoot so you know you have enough time. Come prepared and make sure you have all of the stuff you need before you start.
You forget a photograph that you were supposed to take
Bring your photo shoot plan with you so you know exactly what you are doing and don’t forget anything.
Not enough space left on the camera to take all of the photos you want
Delete all of the photographs that are currently on the camera before you start the photo shoot.
Not knowing how to use the software you require for you images to be edited in the way you want
Use software you’re comfortable with. Get help from some one more qualified if you’re stuck.
The font I want may not install properly to my computer.
Make sure I install the fonts on a mac where admin password isn’t required. If I have any issues, look at a tutorial online if needed.
