article genre
(purpose,
type)
|
The
purpose of this article is to inform the reader of 7 unusual ways they can
make a little bit of extra money, most of the ways revolve around using a
computer so this article falls under the technology genre.
|
Narrative voice
(1st, 2nd or 3rd person) |
This
article will be written in 2nd person in order to be more
direct to the reader. This will also establish a better and more personal
connection with them.
|
Register
(informal/formal,
colloquial, dialect, taboo words?)
|
I
intend to write this article in a very informal and colloquial way so that my
reader feels comfortable reading it and are able to relate to it. I will not
use too many taboo words because I don’t think the Northern Echo or my
secondary audience will find it appropriate.
|
Stylistics
(repetition,
strong verbs, adjectives, alliteration, similes, metaphors, sentencing,
rhythm)
|
I
intend to use strong verbs and adjectives to spice up my text and keeps what
I am saying interesting. Sentences will be quite complex so that I am able to
get across all the information I want, I also don’t want my teenage audience
to feel like they’re being talked to like they’re dumb children.
|
Tone of address
(hectoring,
sarcastic, ‘matey’, ironic, etc)
|
I
will use quite a sarcastic tone because I think that is what my audience will
relate to the most, and they will hopefully also find it quite humorous,
which should keep them interested.
|
Structure and pace
(discourse
structure, logical paragraphing, connectives, conclusion)
|
Although
sentences will be reasonable complex my actual paragraphs will be quite short
just to make sure my audience don’t lose interest, or are put off by the
large chunks of text. This will cause my article to be written at a medium
pace. This is a top 10 style article so I do not intend on writing a
conclusion. The different paragraphs will be connected via a number.

The
purpose of this article is to offer some helpful advice that will help the
reader to build a successful youtube channel. Once again this article focuses on an internet
website and is therefore designed for the technology genre.

This
article will be written in quite a formal way because it allows me to be more
informative, and I think that is particularly important for an advice/ how to
article, however I will still try to throw in a little humour where I can
just to keep the reader interested.
|
Stylistics
(repetition,
strong verbs, adjectives, alliteration, similes, metaphors, sentencing,
rhythm)
|
I
intend to use repetition in this article because I will basically rephrase
what I said in the kicker, in the conclusion, this will give the article
shape.
|
Tone of address
(hectoring,
sarcastic, ‘matey’, ironic, etc)
|
I
will use a relatively serious tone within this article so that the reader
knows that the intention is to actually give you proper advice.

article genre
(purpose,
type)
|
The
purpose of this article is to basically create discussion and offer different
opinions revolving around internet piracy. I intend to offer both sides of
the argument from different opinions.
|
Narrative voice
(1st, 2nd or 3rd person) |
This
article will be written in 2nd person in order to be more direct
to the reader. This will also establish a better and more personal connection
with them.
|
Register
(informal/formal,
colloquial, dialect, taboo words?)
|
My
kicker will be written in a very chatty, colloquial and informal way to arrest
the reader’s flickability. However the rest of the article will be very
factual based and just quoting other people’s opinions as well as offering
statistics.
|
Stylistics
(repetition,
strong verbs, adjectives, alliteration, similes, metaphors, sentencing,
rhythm)
|
I
intend to use very short sentences in this article so that I am able to
output a lot of information and statistics without making the article too
long and boring. I will be very literal in this article rather than use metaphors,
similes etc.
|
Tone of address
(hectoring,
sarcastic, ‘matey’, ironic, etc)
|
Other
than in the kicker, this article will have a very serious tone to get the message
across that online piracy is a very serious thing.
|
Structure and pace
(discourse
structure, logical paragraphing, connectives, conclusion)
|
This
will not be one long continuous article, rather a collection of break out
boxes that offer unlinked facts, statistics and opinions. The objective of
this article is just to get the reader to think and conclude for themselves
whether or not they think piracy is bad.
